Spring

Have you noticed with the good weather in March and the beginning of April how everything seems to change and feel better? With the onset of spring the energies on the planet shift and nature comes to life. New creativity is generated with new growth in the plant kingdom across the globe, hibernating animals waking, creatures of all kinds coming out to play in a flurry of activity and everything seems to become happy. The birds sing in the mornings, lawns suddenly need mowing and bulbs sprout.

We change also as we are as much a part of nature and mother earth as any other living thing. Naturally becoming more active we go outside more, socialise a lot more, new relationships seem to materialise, new additions to the family are started, businesses evolve and plans are made. Spring is the time of creativity and the best time to start new adventures, following new paths that come across your way. Open your heart and mind to allow these opportunities to appear.

As you walk along the path of your life use this natural creative time of year to see the doorways of opportunity before you. Open them and have a look. It costs nothing to look and you can always walk back out if you don’t like what’s in there, but do look as there will be a reason that that door has presented itself in your life. It’s so easy just to say no to something that is different and taken you by suprise, we’ve all done it, but just pause when that doorway appears and have a good think before you say no or walk right on past. There may be something in there that could change your life or just something that will enrich your experience in life. A job or business opportunity perhaps, someone who tells you where to get something or reminds you of something you want to do. A person who invites you out for coffee could turn out to supply you with more knowledge or support on a subject of interest to you or a completely new idea of what to do with your life, a change of paths. New friendship or even a relationship of a more intimate nature, or just simply an interesting conversation that made you feel happy.

Where ever this doorway may lead you to, have a look, you wont know till you do. Some of the most amazing things happen by chance meetings in peoples lives  ( Yes I know, I can hear some of you saying that there is no such things as chance you told me! But you know what I mean! ) so go for it!

Ultimately, in the grand scheme of our entire life, no experience is bad, sure some maybe you wouldn’t want to repeat, in which case you have learnt and are therefore the better for the experience. One thing’s for sure though, you’re far more likely to get amazing beautiful things happen in your life if you dip your toe in the water and walk through that door!

So take off your blinkers and your automatic ‘No” response and keep your awareness heightened, looking out for those opportunities. You never know where it will lead!!!!

A New Beginning 2012

Well, its the end of a year and the start of a new one. Some people will be making New Year Resolutions and others will just be looking forward to a better new year and pleased to see the back of 2011, citing many experiences in 2011 they would rather forget. However, in doing so you maybe ignoring the benefit of those life experiences you may wish to forget. Is that best for you? In your highest interest and for your highest good?

I would say not. All experiences in your life will have a positive benefit, no matter how small there is something to be learnt and all lessons no matter how horrible or upsetting or hurtful they seem at the time enrich your life experience and evolvement as a being on this planet. You just have to take a step back and see it. And who doesn’t wish to evolve?

2011 was a huge year for me with many changes, some traumatic and some so extreme and “almost unbelievable” for most people I couldn’t even begin to explain the phenomenon. So I understand for some it may be a year to forget, but don’t forget, learn from it. Try to understand why it happened also and be stronger and wiser. Which takes us to a bigger picture of our entire life….which may have been one of struggle, joy, sadness, happiness and all other emotions. I have many clients and friends that come to me and don’t know why they are unhappy and look to me for answers. As many of you will know I often say true happiness comes from within. And it does. We control our lives, not others. Even if things come uninvited that we do not desire and did not ask for, still we have to accept some responsibility for being part of the experience equation….even if just to accept we were there at that time and it could not have happened to you if you had not! Acceptance of that enables us to move forward and do something about it.

If you don’t feel truly happy inside, sit down in a quiet moment and space in time, take some deep slow breaths, let your shoulders drop and relax. Continue the deep breathing for a while and when in that quiet space ask your self the direct question that you want answered. Feel from the heart not the mind. Don’t think about it. Ask the question and the answer that comes straight away will be the right one. Not the thinking that changes it after. If for example there are certain people in your life you are not comfortable with any more for whatever reason, a partner, a teacher, a friend, a colleague then if applicable speak to them and be honest.  If that doesn’t resolve the issue then change the situation. People move on, people change, we can out grow people. Not all “relationships” are forever 24 7. Sometimes that person is just not the right person to be in your life anymore. So change it. Be grateful for all that you have learned; and you will have learned something, and move on. Don’t stay in a negative place. No matter what society or peer pressure tells you. If you know in your heart that person isn’t right for you now and I’m talking about all people in your life, then change it.

We are only here for a short time in this body, so make the most of it. Everyone should strive to feel happy and content even if it means you have to put yourself first ( which you should anyway generically speaking ) Do it with grace and gratitude for the learning. All life experiences are beneficial and all living things are our teachers no matter how evolved we think we are. Make 2012 a start for change within yourself to be happy. I mean truly happy inside and continue this for all the years ahead. We all deserve it.  You deserve it.

Relaxing meditation

We all know how stressful life can be, juggling several different things just in normal day to day living, work, social life, family life or just a bad day. So below is a short meditation you can do to bring your stress levels down and help induce a sense of peace. Find a quiet place and allocate ideally fifteen minutes for this exercise. Before you retire for the night to wind you down, after work or first thing in the morning to set you up for the day. If you want to be specific with the time, set an alarm for 15 minutes so you know where you are within your schedule.

Sit in a comfortable chair, with your feet apart flat on the floor, making sure that you are comfortable. Place your hands palm up resting on each thigh. Close your eyes and take a deep breath. Inhale fully and then, slowly, exhale, emptying your lungs completely……slowly. Pause for a second, then breath in fully and repeat the process three times. This will calm you and slow everything down.

Then focus on your feet. Feel the soles of your feet on the floor, feel the contact, the pressure and that your feet are fully supported by the floor. Now imagine roots growing down from the soles of your feet into the ground, through your floor, into the earth and continuing down as far as you can. There is no limit. Imagine them going to the centre of the earth where you see a golden ball of light and wrap your roots around it, securing you lovingly with Mother Earth.

Now focus on your breathing again. Take a deep breath, inhaling fully and then slowly exhale..slowly, not a crawl but slowly, there is no rush. Feel your shoulders drop as you do so and your body relax. After fully exhaling, pause, don’t breathe in. Now count to five in thousands, i.e.. one thousand, two thousand, three thousand in your mind. This may sound a lot to some but you will be surprised. If you cant make five, count to three. If you find five easy count to seven, then eight and so forth. Whatever you feel comfortable with. It is not a competition. While you are counting feel your body relax further, inside and out, shoulders dropping, almost slumping, experiencing a sense of slowing down. At the end of the count breath in again, slowly, filling your lungs to capacity but not straining. Pause, then exhale again as before, repeating the process.

Continue doing this as long as you are comfortable or wait for the alarm to sound. Equally you may, like I do, have a general length of time in mind and my watch next to me which I can glance at if I wish. I don’t use this to “clock watch” but allow myself to continue till I feel it is the right time for me to stop. When you have reached the end of your meditation bring your breathing back to normal and slowly open your eyes. Feel your feet on the floor again  scrunching your toes and clenching your hands. This helps to bring you round and focus back in the now and present. Give yourself a little time and having a glass of water to hand is a good idea so you can have a drink. It’s important to drink water after a meditation as a lot of your body fluids are used during this process and it helps to bring you back around also.

This can be done anytime and for any duration, from a few minutes to an hour or more.

You receive what you think

We live in an attraction, creative based universe. We, like everything else are made of energy. From a scientific view point we are ultimately sub atomic particles moving around, vibrating at different frequencies. There are no exceptions, be it a table, a pebble on the beach or us. We all vibrate.

The difference is we have the power to create by directing our energies and thoughts towards something. The universe responds and sends us what we focus our attention on. There is no “no” within the Law of Attraction. There is no “yes”.

Whatever we focus our attention on we receive. Not instantaneously but over a period of time, gathering momentum as you pour attention into your focus point. This gives us time to shape and create with more direction rather than just a whim. Can you imagine everything you thought about or gave your attention to you received….instantly?  So the universe has its own built in safe guards with a time buffer to prevent this happening. This process can vary in speed of course depending on how strong your focus, the amount of attention going to a subject, i.e. a group effect and some other factors such as allowing it to come to you. ( I will write a blog explaining more about “allowing” later )

In every conscious moment your point of attraction, the focus of your attention is active. You are constantly attracting experiences towards you, either by deliberate intent or by default / random as you allow things you observe to take your attention, and unconsciously bring them toward you. It is therefore much better to focus your attention and thoughts towards experiences you do want in your life. This takes time but as your practise, guiding your thoughts and attention to what you do desire in your life you will notice examples of  these desires coming forward into your experience. Look out for them, slight changes….a better day, meeting a person you had asked to meet, a better relationship with a work colleague or friend, finding that parking space, the bus arriving on time, a waited phone call arriving, better news from your employer.

Your emotions are your indication as to whether you are in alignment with your inner being, your true self and you are focusing your attention in the right direction. If you feel a negative emotion, you will know your thoughts are going in the wrong direction. If you feel positive emotions then your thoughts are going in the right direction and you are in alignment with your inner being. This is called your Emotional Guidance System. It is the best guide your have as to whether you are travelling in the right direction.

So give your attention to what you desire…not what you do not desire. Remember there is no “no” or “yes” in this attraction based universe, so give your attention and thoughts to what you do wish to bring into your experience and improve your life.

Friends in need Supplement

Since my last blog ” How to help friends in need ” I have received numerous requests to expand on this topic. The crux of this are your thoughts, intentions and The Law of Attraction. In essence and from a scientific view point also, as you will have heard me say many times, we are energy. We vibrate. At a raw level we are sub atomic particles moving around…..vibrating. Not just us but everything around us, including the computer your are looking at now, the chair you sit on and the table your keyboard is resting on. Obviously it all vibrates at different frequencies but vibrate we do.

The Universe is an attraction based universe and the vibration we send out is what we bring into our experience. That vibration is your thoughts and attention. So when you visit your friend for example that is having a difficult time through illness, depression, work problems, relationship problems or anything else, it is not in their best interest, or yours to focus on that problem. All you are doing is bringing more of that problem towards them and compounding it. Further you are attracting that problem towards yourself. Subtly at first, as in the early stages of attraction you will just feel some discomfort, but as you continue with your focus to this area you will draw the actual undesired scenario closer and closer to your own personal experience. The very problem you were trying to help your friend with!

You are no advantage what so ever to anyone by focusing on the “problem”, giving it your negative attention. Instead imagine them in an improved scenario, the scenario you would rather see them, a better feeling, well being scenario. Giving them your positive attention, your undivided attention to a better place is your greatest value to them and yourself.

How to help friends in need.

People often come to me and relay their stories. This story normally involves their stress levels and the causes. A high percentage of these involves a friend or family member who is having their own problems. Depending on circumstances, I frequently advise to detach from this scenario so you don’t get involved in their negativity and pulled down with it. That doesn’t serve them or you!

I am then often asked ” But David, how can I help them and not feel guilty if I detach and don’t get involved? ” I say; We are vibrational beings, we vibrate with everything else in the world. If we get involved and offer negative vibrations/feelings/sentiments without detachment you will be adding to the negative state they are in and compounding it just by giving it your attention. Further you will be bringing that negative state ( whatever it is that your friend/relative has or is going through ) towards your own experience. That serves neither them or you. A quick and immediate guide as to how you know is your Emotional Guidance System. If you feel a negative emotion while dealing with them you are offering a negative vibration. If you feel a positive emotion you are offering a positive vibration to the situation.

The vibration you offer with your thoughts attracts more of that vibration. Both for you and your focus person. Like attracts like. It is Universal Law. The Law of Attraction.
In other words; Whatever you think about you bring towards you. Whatever you give your attention, you bring towards you.

Next time you are dealing with a friend/relative who is going through a crisis of some sort, be there by all means, support by all means. But don’t “go there” immersing yourself in it. Think of them better, in an improved scenario and hold that thought, offering a positive vibration for both you and them, attracting that better feeling scenario for both of you.
So really help your friends/relatives in need. Think improved thoughts towards their situation, imagine it better and don’t get drawn into the drama compounding it for both of you. That is the best way to help them and yourself.

Your thoughts are powerful

If you knew how powerful your thoughts are you’d never think another negative thought again.

Thoughts are the most powerful tools you have to effect your life. They are your cutting edge in creating all that surrounds you, establishing your vibrational alignment with source. The energy that is everywhere about you if you like. It is the foundation, your first and most important step to creation from which your entire life experience stems from. So do you see how important that is?

Deliberately focus your thoughts on what you wish to experience. A good day, a new car, more money, better relationship, getting on with work colleagues and friends, or simply to be happy. All of these things that you experience are determined by how you think. It sends out your strongest vibration to the universe as to what you desire. You literally get what you think, not just intentionally but unintentionally or by default. If it’s your intention to have a good day, put that out there first thing in the morning.

Say to yourself ” Today I see my self having a wonderful day, experiencing only that which I desire and is for my highest good. I will get on with everyone I meet and only experience nice encounters. If I do experience any unpleasant feeling encounters it will be brief and easily rectified with a minimum of fuss”

It’s important to start thinking about what you wish to experience in your life. Focus your thoughts as though you either have it in your life or it is imminently on its way and you will enjoy the process of receiving when it arrives very soon. Be careful not to counteract this with dis belief or immediately thinking it wont happen. That negates the positive energy/vibration you put out there with a negative one which will prevent you from receiving what you truly desire.

Once you realise how powerful your thoughts are, your actions that follow to achieve your desires will be easier, less of a chore and more pleasurable with faster results. You came into this world knowing that life is meant to be a joyful experience and you could create all this with your thoughts. It may not change over night, but keep at it and then you will notice some signs of how certain things come towards you. Be aware of those more positive good feeling experiences coming to you and be grateful. It is an indication it works and to continue. Happy creating!

Crystals to enhance the energy of your home

It’s important to have the energy of your home as you would like it. A calm, peaceful home is important for your well being. After a hard day at work it’s nice to come home to that place of relaxation and peace. Even if you work from home the same applies outside of your “office”. It can be cleansing and uplifting as well as peaceful and calm; you tailor it as you desire.

Crystals can help with this. But which ones as there are so many and all do different things! The short but complete answer is all crystals will enhance the energy/atmosphere of your home. There are some basic rules of thumb yes, and some crystals may suit certain environments and rooms used for specific purposes…. but in essence all will help. 

Crystals radiate their own energy field thereby affecting the energy in your house. You may recognise it as the atmosphere or “feeling” you have whilst there. For example, everyone who enters my house experiences a sense of peace and calm as this is how I set it up, but you can choose how you would like it. It’s useful to have a basic understanding of which ones to place in your home as different crystals placed in different areas may achieve slightly different results. Amethyst is a great one to have, in geode form or beds ( a bed is a slab shape, geode is like a cave ). This crystal is multi functional, providing protection against all unwanted negative energies and at the same time calming and peaceful. This is why you often see large Amethyst Geodes in Spa centres, particularly in their relaxation rooms. It also provides a useful energy “Anchor”  for your house. So place by doors and a corner of the house somewhere. It is one of the few crystals that is self cleansing and you can place other crystals on the Amethyst and it cleanse them also! I have a geode in each room of the house and in my bedroom I have one that I hang all my crystal pendants from :-)  

Like Amethyst, Smokey Quartz is a good anchor crystal and if you obtain a large piece  should be located somewhere prominent in an important place where you spend allot of time. A book on Feng Shui would help for people first starting out on positioning of some crystals. Smokey is similar to Amethyst in that it’s good for cleansing and absorbing negative energies. Clear quartz or Quartz generally can be valuable but care has to be taken as often they have high vibration and can make your house very “buzzy”. In the main though it will be very large pieces that will have this effect. Years ago I bought a massive piece weighing 25 plus Kilos which felt great in the shop but in my lounge it was like being at a club on a Friday night full of teenagers partying with out the music or teenagers! It was just too much for my home so I had to return and replace it with something different. But that is an extreme example and unlikely you will come across that scenario. 

Feminine angelic crystals like Celestite ( photo above ) and Selenite are great for promoting a soft angelic energy along with Rose Quartz and Lapis Lazuli. Agates are strengthening and grounding and very nice in candle holder form so you have the benefit of the crystal and a lit candle which is always nice and relaxing. Septarian is another lovely crystal formed in the earth from various elements including silt. It’s harder to obtain but worth it and helps to banish nightmares and is a good multi purpose healing crystal. Black tourmaline as always placed around the house at key locations to absorb negative energy and electromagnetic smog which could be very detrimental to your well being. 

Smaller crystals such as tumbles are great for placing around the house in every room, on tables, shelves, windows sills, cabinets, in small bowls or loose. The same applies for larger pieces as any and all crystals will help make your home a nice place to be :-)  When choosing what and where the general rule of thumb is to clear your mind and ask your self while holding or focusing on the crystal where you think it should go. You may even hear the crystal answer you in a manner of speaking….go with it and trust your feelings in the matter, you will know. So fill your home full of crystals and feel better :-)

Crystals to help you sleep

One of the most common problems I help people with when healing is a problem with sleep. Even if it isn’t precisely that problem, more often than not it’s a contributory factor or an off shoot of the main one. Let’s face it, sleep is pretty important and without it we just cannot function. Sleep is where we rest our physical bodies and minds. Repairing, rejuvenating, calming and ready for the next day. Here I will mention a few crystals that will aid you in this area. 

One of the main things to consider is exactly how your sleep is impaired? For example, is it due to dreams or nightmares?  Stress or not being able to sleep till the early hours? Waking up early or during the night to name but a few. Establishing the cause is the next step. There are so many reasons this could be and of course the answer would differ for each one. Meditation, breathing, removing outside influences and other things, all of which would help. 

Something people forget to consider is Electromagnetic radiation or Geopathic stress. These two things are in some ways closely linked, but still separate. I don’t wish to go into too much detail here as that is a separate blog all together. Electro magnetic smog ( see previous blog entitled “Crystals and electromagnetic smog” for full details ) is caused by electricity around the house, wireless computers, mobile phones, wireless mobile phone bases are the biggest culprits. Geopathic stress is caused by an interference of the earths natural magnetic fields by either natural means, i.e. underground streams,  fault lines, or man made such as the foundations of a large building. 

Crystals can help with this. Generally speaking you should place the crystal under your pillow or next to your bed. Also with crystals intended specifically for blocking electromagnetic radiation should be placed close to anything electrical in the area you sleep, like plugs or adaptors, lap tops, TV’s etc. Always turn anything electrical off at the main socket if possible. Black tourmaline, Smokey Quartz and Amethyst are great for this. Amethyst is good for helping you sleep generally and should be placed under your pillow or close to your head on a bedside cabinet for example. 

Any kind of calming gentle crystal is also good. I personally find Lapis Lazuli ( deep blue with gold flecks in it, raw or polished ) and Rose Quartz great for helping me slow down and relax, both mentally and physically. I hold either in my hand as I lay in bed and drift off, its a lovely feeling.  Celestite is a beautiful pale blue crystal, best in a raw form, very angelic, gentle and soothing to have close to you. Selenite is similar in many ways to Celestite, another angelic feminine crystal, great to have in the bedroom or any room. Also it can be placed in the corners of the room or house forming a protective energy grid and helps stabilize erratic emotions. Lepidolite Mica and Hematite will also assist with insomnia. 

It is important to remember we are all different. We vibrate at different frequencies at different times in our life, therefore we must find the right crystal for us. What suits one person may not suit you.  Hold the crystal if possible and see how you feel inside, then try it out at home. The right one will come to you. Trust your adviser and yourself with using the right crystal and if either doesn’t feel right, change it. If I can help in anyway please contact me, I stock most of these crystals if you need them. The Power of your words

Your words have power. They are an extension of you, your vibration, the signal and energy you transmit. They can be positive or negative, it is your choice. We all know about the more obvious aspects of words with expressions like ” The pen is mightier than the sword ” or “Sticks and stones will break my bones but words will never hurt me”. But is this actually the case?

Words, spoken and written have been responsible for wars, international crises, segregation, prejudice, fear, suspicion, mistrust, indoctrination, loss of friendship and love, and loneliness to name but a few. On the flip side of the coin, they also contribute to world peace, respect, joy, contentment, friendship, learning, love and understanding. So wouldn’t it be wise to think about what we say before we say it? Take a deep breath before we offer those words out to be received? 

We are all energy. At a sub atomic level we vibrate which science has unequivocally proved now. When we speak, we have feeling behind what we say and intention, even if it’s subconscious or not realised. So if it is something negative, like I don’t like you, or you annoy me, or you fool, it offers a negative vibration which impacts on yourself, the person you offered it to and everything around you. On a mass global level with many people offering this type of vibration the scale of effect is huge.

 This is demonstrated by Dr. Masaru Emoto, a graduate of Yokohama Municipal University and the Open International University as a Doctor of Alternative Medicine. He is now world famous for his research and photography of water. He set up a controlled experiment with two samples of water from the same location and placed them in two test tubes. Then wrote the words hate on one and love on the other, froze them and photographed each at a cellular level, recording the crystalline structure on film. The results were astonishing. The water with hate written on it showed crystal structures malformed and fragmented. The water with love written on it formed beautiful hexagonal crystals. Similar experiments were conducted with children speaking to the water voicing words such as “fool, ugly” compared to “beautiful and thank you” offered comparable results. Beautiful crystalline structures for the former and malformed, dark fragmented structures for the latter.

Taking this a step further, if you read my previous blogs, you will know that we are anything from 55% to 75% water, depending on what journal you read. So if we feel negative or are offered negative vibration, it doesn’t take much to realise the effect it can have on our body at a cellular level. In this negative cellular state we can become ill, feel bad and even assist towards dis-ease as our bodies are in this cellular state of negativity. Of course, we can counteract this with good words and intentions, meditation and so forth. But how often do we do this? And isn’t is better to not offer or receive that negative vibration in the first place? Feel the difference in your self and day to day interactions when you are mindful of this. You will feel better inside and so will others around you.  

My point is this; be mindful of your words and the feeling you place behind them, especially when aimed at someone directly. The impact is far greater than you may have previously thought. Think before you write and speak, and be aware of the impact it will have, both on your self and others. You will notice a difference almost immediately in the way you feel if done in earnest. The long term implications for your well being and health maybe nothing short of staggering, never mind a general sense of peace and contentment on a deep core level. Isn’t that worth being mindful of what you say?
