Spring

Have you noticed with the good weather in March and the beginning of April how everything seems to change and feel better? With the onset of spring the energies on the planet shift and nature comes to life. New creativity is generated with new growth in the plant kingdom across the globe, hibernating animals waking, creatures of all kinds coming out to play in a flurry of activity and everything seems to become happy. The birds sing in the mornings, lawns suddenly need mowing and bulbs sprout.

We change also as we are as much a part of nature and mother earth as any other living thing. Naturally becoming more active we go outside more, socialise a lot more, new relationships seem to materialise, new additions to the family are started, businesses evolve and plans are made. Spring is the time of creativity and the best time to start new adventures, following new paths that come across your way. Open your heart and mind to allow these opportunities to appear.

As you walk along the path of your life use this natural creative time of year to see the doorways of opportunity before you. Open them and have a look. It costs nothing to look and you can always walk back out if you don’t like what’s in there, but do look as there will be a reason that that door has presented itself in your life. It’s so easy just to say no to something that is different and taken you by suprise, we’ve all done it, but just pause when that doorway appears and have a good think before you say no or walk right on past. There may be something in there that could change your life or just something that will enrich your experience in life. A job or business opportunity perhaps, someone who tells you where to get something or reminds you of something you want to do. A person who invites you out for coffee could turn out to supply you with more knowledge or support on a subject of interest to you or a completely new idea of what to do with your life, a change of paths. New friendship or even a relationship of a more intimate nature, or just simply an interesting conversation that made you feel happy.

Where ever this doorway may lead you to, have a look, you wont know till you do. Some of the most amazing things happen by chance meetings in peoples lives  ( Yes I know, I can hear some of you saying that there is no such things as chance you told me! But you know what I mean! ) so go for it!

Ultimately, in the grand scheme of our entire life, no experience is bad, sure some maybe you wouldn’t want to repeat, in which case you have learnt and are therefore the better for the experience. One thing’s for sure though, you’re far more likely to get amazing beautiful things happen in your life if you dip your toe in the water and walk through that door!

So take off your blinkers and your automatic ‘No” response and keep your awareness heightened, looking out for those opportunities. You never know where it will lead!!!!

Enjoy :-)

The Squirrel

It was a pleasant July morning as I cycled to the gym on the first main road from my house, taking my time and pedaling away. It was then I noticed something on the road ahead and as I got closer I realized it was an animal not moving. Slowing down and riding past I saw it was a squirrel and dead by the looks of it unfortunately. I didn’t want to leave him on the road to be repeatedly run over so I stopped my bike and spun round.

Pulling up parallel with the squirrel on the grass verge I watched a car coming towards me and expected the driver to drive over the squirrel again, fortunately he didn’t though, but straddled him instead. Looking around I saw no other cars traveling towards me so walked into the road and looked at the squirrel. It wasn’t too badly mauled, I would guess he had been hit only once and not actually run over. One of his legs was sticking in the air but this was due to rigamortis rather than injury, clearly he’d been dead for a while. Picking him up by the tail I gently placed him on the grass verge where he wouldn’t be hit any more.

After a few seconds looking at him and a silent prayer of blessing I turned to my bike and mounted to cycle away. Something was nagging at me though, I had a feeling at the back of my neck. Pausing as I was about to pedal off I turned around and looked back. Focusing for a second I listened, feeling. The squirrels spirit was still there! I found this strange as the body had obviously been dead for sometime so I had another look to make sure…then i saw it, his spirit was trying to hide in his body still, looking lost and very scared!  It couldn’t quite make it work though so kept “slipping” out. Almost in but not quite.

Closing my eyes I immediately asked my guides for help and called down a portal for him to cross over. A beautiful white golden circle of light appeared close by. I walked over to the squirrel, and called for him to come to me and the light. But he couldn’t hear me or more likely was too confused and afraid. Looking at the portal I saw some beautiful squirrels all round the edge and inside, beckoning to him with loving energy to come over. The recently become spirit squirrel took almost no notice though….frantically trying to stay in his inert, lifeless body.

Realizing I would have to take a more direct hand in this, my spirit form walked over to the squirrel and lovingly placed my spirit hands into the unmoving physical body, tenderly cupping the squirrel spirit. Carefully and slowly lifting him out, I carried him to the portal and gently reached in to pass the squirrel into the circle of light where his friends waited and he was greeted with love and empathy. For a moment the portal stayed visible, the squirrel with his friends, visibly calmer and then it was gone.

Standing for a few seconds I felt the “rightness” of what had happened. A sense of peace came over me and I knew I had done a good thing. Glancing up I saw a car go past and a pedestrian walked by me. He must have wondered what I was doing but paid me little attention. Thanking my guides and the Divine, blessing the squirrel and wishing him good fortune I got back on my cycle and started pedalling. I had done a good thing today and was pleased.

Relaxing meditation

We all know how stressful life can be, juggling several different things just in normal day to day living, work, social life, family life or just a bad day. So below is a short meditation you can do to bring your stress levels down and help induce a sense of peace. Find a quiet place and allocate ideally fifteen minutes for this exercise. Before you retire for the night to wind you down, after work or first thing in the morning to set you up for the day. If you want to be specific with the time, set an alarm for 15 minutes so you know where you are within your schedule.

Sit in a comfortable chair, with your feet apart flat on the floor, making sure that you are comfortable. Place your hands palm up resting on each thigh. Close your eyes and take a deep breath. Inhale fully and then, slowly, exhale, emptying your lungs completely……slowly. Pause for a second, then breath in fully and repeat the process three times. This will calm you and slow everything down.

Then focus on your feet. Feel the soles of your feet on the floor, feel the contact, the pressure and that your feet are fully supported by the floor. Now imagine roots growing down from the soles of your feet into the ground, through your floor, into the earth and continuing down as far as you can. There is no limit. Imagine them going to the centre of the earth where you see a golden ball of light and wrap your roots around it, securing you lovingly with Mother Earth.

Now focus on your breathing again. Take a deep breath, inhaling fully and then slowly exhale..slowly, not a crawl but slowly, there is no rush. Feel your shoulders drop as you do so and your body relax. After fully exhaling, pause, don’t breathe in. Now count to five in thousands, i.e.. one thousand, two thousand, three thousand in your mind. This may sound a lot to some but you will be surprised. If you cant make five, count to three. If you find five easy count to seven, then eight and so forth. Whatever you feel comfortable with. It is not a competition. While you are counting feel your body relax further, inside and out, shoulders dropping, almost slumping, experiencing a sense of slowing down. At the end of the count breath in again, slowly, filling your lungs to capacity but not straining. Pause, then exhale again as before, repeating the process.

Continue doing this as long as you are comfortable or wait for the alarm to sound. Equally you may, like I do, have a general length of time in mind and my watch next to me which I can glance at if I wish. I don’t use this to “clock watch” but allow myself to continue till I feel it is the right time for me to stop. When you have reached the end of your meditation bring your breathing back to normal and slowly open your eyes. Feel your feet on the floor again  scrunching your toes and clenching your hands. This helps to bring you round and focus back in the now and present. Give yourself a little time and having a glass of water to hand is a good idea so you can have a drink. It’s important to drink water after a meditation as a lot of your body fluids are used during this process and it helps to bring you back around also.

This can be done anytime and for any duration, from a few minutes to an hour or more.

Enjoy!

You receive what you think

We live in an attraction, creative based universe. We, like everything else are made of energy. From a scientific view point we are ultimately sub atomic particles moving around, vibrating at different frequencies. There are no exceptions, be it a table, a pebble on the beach or us. We all vibrate.

The difference is we have the power to create by directing our energies and thoughts towards something. The universe responds and sends us what we focus our attention on. There is no “no” within the Law of Attraction. There is no “yes”.

Whatever we focus our attention on we receive. Not instantaneously but over a period of time, gathering momentum as you pour attention into your focus point. This gives us time to shape and create with more direction rather than just a whim. Can you imagine everything you thought about or gave your attention to you received….instantly?  So the universe has its own built in safe guards with a time buffer to prevent this happening. This process can vary in speed of course depending on how strong your focus, the amount of attention going to a subject, i.e. a group effect and some other factors such as allowing it to come to you. ( I will write a blog explaining more about “allowing” later )

In every conscious moment your point of attraction, the focus of your attention is active. You are constantly attracting experiences towards you, either by deliberate intent or by default / random as you allow things you observe to take your attention, and unconsciously bring them toward you. It is therefore much better to focus your attention and thoughts towards experiences you do want in your life. This takes time but as your practise, guiding your thoughts and attention to what you do desire in your life you will notice examples of  these desires coming forward into your experience. Look out for them, slight changes….a better day, meeting a person you had asked to meet, a better relationship with a work colleague or friend, finding that parking space, the bus arriving on time, a waited phone call arriving, better news from your employer.

Your emotions are your indication as to whether you are in alignment with your inner being, your true self and you are focusing your attention in the right direction. If you feel a negative emotion, you will know your thoughts are going in the wrong direction. If you feel positive emotions then your thoughts are going in the right direction and you are in alignment with your inner being. This is called your Emotional Guidance System. It is the best guide your have as to whether you are travelling in the right direction.

So give your attention to what you desire…not what you do not desire. Remember there is no “no” or “yes” in this attraction based universe, so give your attention and thoughts to what you do wish to bring into your experience and improve your life.

The Pigeon

Yesterday I was returning from Staffordshire having visited a crystal warehouse to purchase some beautiful crystals for you guys. I had spent a lovely couple of hours acting like a child in a candy shop and was in a good mood as I was travelling down a small country A road. Suddenly I saw a puff of white feathers explode in front of a car travelling towards me. As I continued to watch, now transfixed, I saw that a pigeon had been hit by the oncoming car. I slowed down, continuing  past for a closer look….the pigeon was still alive! His head was up as he tried to move but was unable to walk or fly.

I turned  into a side road 20 meters ahead, spun the car round and pulled up in front of the pigeon protecting him from further harm and got out. The position was not great as in one direction it was a long sweeping bend, but I put my hazards on and got out of the vehicle. Quickly I went to the pigeon and saw that he was still moving but appeared to be fading fast although I could see no visible injury. As you can imagine it was only seconds before other vehicles came up behind me, forced to slow down to get past, but out of all the vehicles that did only one sounded his horn. The rest looked on with a mixture of sympathy or mild interest. Gently I picked him up supporting his head and wings in both hands and laid him down on the wide grass verge. His mouth was opening and closing, his tongue sticking out, body trembling. I noticed a car pull up behind mine and wondered what the driver wanted. To berate me for partially blocking the lane perhaps?

Turning my attention back to the pigeon I placed my hands over him, channelling healing energy, blessing him and asking for help from my guides. Very gently I lifted him in my hands slightly off the grass, speaking in low soothing tones, encasing him in loving gentle white light. After a few seconds he closed his eyes and died.

I then saw his spirit rise up, confused and in shock. Lost. He had just been hit by a car in a massive impact and his physical life taken from him in violent suddenness. I called into the spirit world for help soothing his spirit at the same time, feeling him calming. A group of birds in spirit form appeared…white, beautiful and loving along side a brilliant circle of white light, calling and moving towards him to help the pigeon pass over. After a few seconds he flew towards the light and I could feel the gratitude emanating from him as he joined his brethren and the beautiful circle of white light. It was so moving and I felt my eyes well up. He just flew into the circle of light with his friends and disappeared.

Stroking his body I placed it deeper into the verge amongst some taller grass, thanked my guides and all in the spirit world who helped me, stood up and made to return to my car. I then noticed the other persons car who had parked behind me and the young lady driver who was standing watching me. I approached her and she said ” I cant believe you stopped. ” I said ” I saw it happen and saw that he was still alive, so came back, I couldn’t just leave it ” Her face was one of complete seriousness and amazement as she said ” That’s what I was doing too. I cant believe you came back, it’s so wonderful. One of those moments you never forget in your life”

I looked at her with deep emotions running through me and replied. “I’m a healer and a medium. It’s what I do”

This is not the first time I have helped an animal cross over. But the first time someone witnessed me. That pigeon had a spirit and could feel.  His gratitude for me helping him when dying was overwhelming. Even while writing this and re living the experience, I feel tears coming unbidden to my eyes. Respect all living things. They are no less or more than us. We are all part of life in this universe and allot more love for all things would go a long way. Amen to that.

How to unwind in under one minute

Sounds impossible? It is not! This is a simple way to wind down your metabolism, still your mind, body and yes, still your spirit also.

How many times have you been at that wound up point during the average week? Doing anything, anything at all. At work, talking to someone, in the house cooking , cleaning ,  talking to your partner or children, in a business meeting or just at the end of a gruelling day. Maybe even the start of the day! Or about to do something and you are too excited, anxious or nervous. Well here is a simple technique to resolve this situation in as little time as it counts to pause in your actions.

There are two parts to this, breathing and pausing. The pausing comes first. Whatever you are doing…wherever you are, just pause. Stop what you are doing. Even if for a second or two. But just ……stop. Make sure your feet are on the ground and close your eyes, take a full deep breath, filling your lungs to capacity and breath out. Fully. Like a sigh almost. After the exhale count in your mind up to five in thousands. One thousand, two thousand and so on.  Don’t worry if you cant, count to three instead. You will be surprised though. You can count more than five if you wish, but it is not a competition. The counting after exhale will make you slow right down and feel immediately calmer.  Breath in and repeat. The effect of this process is nothing short of astonishing. Try it.

You can repeat this breathing once or twice or for a whole thirty minute meditation. The exercise can be completed any place, anywhere and any number of times during your day. At a bus stop, in the car, at the office, in the kitchen, sitting in your favourite armchair, in a shop or even in the shower. Obviously you cant always close your eyes so only when your situation allows it safely.  Adapt it to your needs. If you do this as a deep meditation in a quiet place for fifteen to thirty minutes, you will find that you can count for much longer, reaching an amazing state of peace and stillness within. Or use it for everyday slowing down in seconds. I personally use this exercise on a daily basis.  Enjoy the peace and stillness :-)

People today would be happier with fewer possessions?

In the modern world people have the opportunity to acquire many different material objects for all kinds of reasons. For example, to make their life easier, a micro wave oven, a mobile phone. Or something that will give them pleasure like a luxurious car, a branded handbag or clothing, the latest sound system, plasma television, DVD player or massive house to name but a few. All of which people would, including myself, give perfectly valid reasons for owning them. And why not?

Why not indeed. But there is a flip side to this coin. The truth of the matter is that many people acquire these material goods in an attempt to make themselves happy. This reason is fundamentally wrong on a very deep level. You see, happiness should come from within. Have you ever seen rich or famous people who still seem to be unhappy? Using drugs and becoming addicts, alcoholics, suffering a string of broken relationships and marriages, plastic surgery all the time to make themselves physically more pleasing to the eye. Even sometimes committing suicide at very young ages. If owning all these material goods and having everything money can buy makes you happy, then why does this happen? Of course, most would agree that money gives you choices in life and can certainly make your life easier. But happy? No. Maybe on a superficial level yes, but not true happiness. That comes from within.

This feeds the argument that people who wish to be truly happy and at one with themselves should have nothing other than basic needs like food, a roof over your head and clothes on your back with a warm fire for winter. That’s great for those who desire that style of living. Personally, I prefer the balanced approach. Find happiness within and enjoy your material world at the same time, making sure that material goods are pleasing for me and enjoyable but not the attempted method to achieve deep happiness within. Unfortunately not many in this modern world of technology and greed see this. However, the winds of change are blowing and people are starting to see beyond their house, cars, 2.2 children and half a Labrador. It is a gradual wind, a mere whisper in the grand scheme of things, but gathering pace never the less. Long may it continue.

How to not be lost for words

We have all at some stage been lost for words in our life or the right words simply wont come! This could be in a board meeting delivering a package for your promotion, talking to a difficult member of the public or customer for your business, a family member or friend you are trying to get a point across too without offending them. Even that first contact in a relationship where the energy is so strong that you cannot get your words out and very embarrassed! How frustrating, often embarrassing and dare I say it annoying sometimes is this?

There are allot of techniques available to prevent this from happening in the first place but in this blog I wish to just out line a very simple technique when either caught in that situation or just prior. The main thing is to be “present” and in the “moment”. What I mean by that is to be focused and grounded. Feel where you are, your feet on the floor, the clothes on your body and what, if anything, you are touching in that moment. A table, a door handle, a book, whatever. The reason is that when you are caught speechless or seem unable to voice the right words to avoid that embarrassing moment is all your energy at that time is rushing  to the upper half of your body making you feel empty headed. Focusing on your feet on the ground brings your energy back into balance and “grounds” you, connecting your energy back to the earth. Suddenly you will be able to think straight and get your words out! Scientific studies with children at school have found that asking a child to place his feet on the ground brings the child back into the present, more focused and well behaved, allowing them to reconnect and find the answers they were asked for.

Remember you can do this just prior to your interaction or at the time it happens. Just feel your feet on the ground, be “aware” of them. Even while in the middle of talking you can do this. You’ll find the words will flow allowing a sense of confidence and balance avoiding that embarrassing lost feeling!

The Importance of Water

Water. Everyone always talks about water and life as we know it. There is no doubt how important water is to our well being. Depending which scientific study you read or which research body findings you look up, our bodies are anything from 55% to 75% give or take made of water. This varies depending on the above, your sex, what your body fat percentage is and so forth. However, we all agree how important it is.

There are many in depth scientific studies out now including photographs of frozen water from different sources that show very clearly the difference between certain types of water. It is amazing to see and I recommend anyone to obtain a copy of this book “The Hidden Messages in Water” by Masaru Emoto. It will open your eyes. It most certainly did me a few years ago. Even different energy/emotional inputs alter the molecular structure of water as well. But that is another blog which I will touch on later.

So how do we improve the water we drink? Most of you would come to the conclusion that mineral water is the answer. Well, yes and no. It is better than tap water for sure. However, it is not a finite answer nor the only one. For some people buying large bottles of water all the time is not practical and you have the expense and plastic bottle disposal issue. You could buy a water filter from any reputable supermarket. Or even have a more permanent filter placed in your domestic water system with its own tap. For further health enhancing benefits place some crystals at the bottom or your water filter.

How to deal with unwanted emotions and negative energy from friends, work colleagues and anyone else.

Unwanted negative energy/vibes from people in your life is for most, unfortunately, a not uncommon occurrence. We have all experienced this at some level with someone at some point in our lives. Be it in the form of a jealous work colleague who gives you grief just because. A boss who has taken it upon themselves to dislike you and make your life a misery, or a friend who is upset with you through some imagined slight. Even family members that you don’t get on with and you wish to defuse the situation before it develops into something all will regret.

There are some deep techniques for dealing with this but that’s another blog on its own and then some! So what I will do today is just outline one simple technique to neutralise this animosity/ negative energy aimed at you by others.

The first thing to know is that when a person is sending this negativity towards you, regardless of form, is that it is their negativity and not yours. So don’t own it, buy into it or accept it. Why should you take it if you don’t want it? It is important to have this in your mind. It’s not yours and they can keep it. Your intention gives you power and helps to manifest this non acceptance of their negative energy.

Imagine you are encased in a bubble of light, white light is best but any colour will do! Imagine that a column of pure white light is coming down from the sky and surrounding you in a protective shield that cannot be penetrated, reflecting all the negative vibes/energy back to the source, just like a mirror. After a while, this can be done instantly as required as you become more proficient at it. You’ll be amazed the difference it makes to how you feel. As you do this actually remind yourself that these are his/her issues and not yours and the effect will be greater.

It is however best to start with some dry runs first. Prepare yourself by sitting down with your eyes closed, regulate your breathing with deep slow breaths…fully exhaling and then fully inhaling. Do this 3 or 4 times and when feeling focused, pull down that light and surround yourself in it. This can be done anytime and anywhere, standing at a bus stop, in the car ( eyes open then of course :-) ), in your office, or at home. Anywhere. It will, like all things take practise, but don’t give up. It’s simple and very effective once you get the hang of it. Happy peaceful times :-)
